Los Angeles is a densely-populated diverse metropolitan area. From 2010 US Census data, Los Angeles is 49.8% white, 9.8% black or African American, 0.7% Native American, 11.3% Asian, 0.1% Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, 23.8% other races, 4.6% two or more races; Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 48.5%. Los Angeles has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we hope to represent a variety of experiences and diversity of opinions as a hub site for this important project.
